Kosel Wailing Wall Reproduction
These giant stones will be cast using rubber moulds and will be produced in house, using LimeTech - Danko's own artificial stone formula. Danko will also be installing these products mostly in places of worship, museums and private homes.
To truly enhance the overall effect, many of our stone reproductions will be closely modeled after actual Kotel stones.
Our sculpture begins life as a 4" block of sculpting foam. The final product will NOT have foam in it, but instead, will be cast from a rubber mould using our LimeTech artificial Limestone material.
Recreating the details of these ancient and weathered Herodian stones is a painstaking process, but the result is that every stone will be a unique piece of art.
The delicate sculpture must be reinforced with fiberglass for durability to withstand the harsh mould making process.
Next, a hardening clay-like material is applied to the fiberglass surface and carefully chiseled and sculpted.
Attention to detail in creating an authentic weathered limestone texture is taken to the extreme before making the giant rubber and fiberglass moulds.
Here is the final sculpture ready to be moulded. The final LimeTech product will be cast in a base limestone color and will then be sealed and treated with several scenic color treatments. This will bring out the texture of the stone and artificially age it.

Here is a picture of the first stone out of the mould. We pigmented the LimeTech formula in a natural limestone base color. This will ensure that the stone color is though and through in case of accidental chips and scratches
After about 4 hours of highlighting and aging the stone with at least 10 different color treatments, this is the final result. Stay tuned for more pictures and updates as this exciting project progresses!
